Report on Workshop

Fifty people participated in the event, including members, well-wishers, and those associated with or inspired by BVP’s social service activities. The workshop started with chanting Vande Mataram and Deep Prajwalan, followed by garlanding the portraits of Bharatmata and Swami Vivekananda.
Welcome address was delivered by Branch President Smt. Soma Paul. Sri. Tarak Bhattacharya, founder of the first rural samity of BVP in the locality narrated his experience during the first advent of BVP in rural Hooghly under the stewardship of (Lt.) Sri. P.D. Bhoot. He respectfully remembered Sri. Bhootjee was a pioneer of BVP’s Vikas Yatra.
Sri. Suprabhat Kumar Bose, founder member of the rural samity at ILSOBA also briefly narrated how a rural samity could give a new dimension to development activities under Sri. Bhootjee’s guidance.
Branch Secretary Sri. Saibal Chandra Mondal spoke about the purpose of today’s workshop and requested members to follow the program systematically and sincerely, as it would be a learning opportunity for the BVP fraternity. Participants introduced themselves.
Sri.Sudin Kumar Basu briefly explained how the rural samity of Ilsoba transformed into today’s Hooghly branch. Later, state President Sri.Anil ji Agarwal delivered an in-depth presentation on “BVP”: what it is, its aims, objectives, foundation, philosophy, mission, and vision. Where are we supposed to reach as a BVPian? Our duties, responsibilities, and the protocol we are required to follow were discussed. Participants felt greatly benefited by Sri. Anil jee’s wisdom.
State dignitaries and the audience jointly conducted a question-and-answer session. This session addressed queries on skill training & development, women’s empowerment, Mahila Sabhagita, youth employment opportunities, etc. DR. Reeta Bhattacharya discussed Sampark. Sri. Mandhanajee discussed Seva & answered queries on the definition of Seva in various contexts.
A “Mukt Chintan” dialogue was also held to address the queries of interested attendees. State General Secretary Smt. Gopa De delivered the concluding address to summarize the resolutions drawn from this Workshop and gave assurance of necessary guidance, intellectual support and possible resources for the branch’s proper functioning in the years to come.
Branch Secretary Sri. Saibal Ch. Mondal expressed a vote of thanks to the dignitaries from the state office & everyone who attended the Workshop to make it successful.
Program was concluded with the presentation of the National Anthem. Lunch was offered to everyone who attended the event.
