Cloth Distribution Program by Bharat Vikas Parishad on the Auspicious Occasion of Mahalaya

With immense joy, we wish to inform that on the sacred occasion of Mahalaya, 10th October 2026, marking the end of Pitri Paksha and the beginning of Devi Paksha, a noble service program was organized through the joint and sincere efforts of the Hooghly and Howrah South branches of Bharat Vikas Parishad.

In line with this ideal, today at Dumurdah area of Hooghly district, new sarees were distributed to more than 100 needy and underprivileged women as a gift for Sharadiya Durga Puja. Honouring women as the embodiment of motherly power is our culture, and we feel blessed to have served them before the arrival of Maa Durga. At the same time, new clothes were handed over to 30 underprivileged children, so that the joy of Puja reaches every home. The innocent smiles on the faces of the children after receiving new clothes was our greatest reward.

This noble initiative was made successful by the special support of Shri Rajendra Patwari Ji and Shri Naresh Agarwal Ji from Howrah South branchof Bharat Vikas Parishad. We express our heartfelt gratitude to them for their selfless service.

The program was graced by the presence of Hooghly branch President Smt. Soma Pal, Secretary Shri Saibal Chandra Mandal and Treasurer Shri Ranjit Karmakar along with other members of the organization, whose collective efforts made this Seva Yagna a grand success.
